Checker

Checker is an emulsion in water (EW) herbicide containing Pretilachlore 37%, a chloroacetanilide herbicide that is absorbed by germinating weeds and inhibits the synthesis of very long-chain fatty acids, stopping cell division and early weed growth. Being selective, it targets grassy and broadleaf weeds as well as sedges while leaving the crop safe, and it is widely used as a pre-emergence herbicide in transplanted paddy, as reflected in the rice-field imagery on the pack. The EW formulation is water-based, making it easier to mix and safer to handle than solvent-based alternatives. It comes in a white bottle with a sculpted grip panel and blue screw cap, packed in a printed outer carton with a toxicity classification triangle on the label. For safe use, keep it out of reach of children, read the label and leaflet carefully before use, and store it in a cool, dry place away from sunlight.
